In the 1940s the British Ministry of Defense prescribed a series of requirements for military timepieces. Twelve companies met these requirements. Omega, Jaeger LeCoultre, and Breitling Replica were amongst them. These watches became known to collectors as the "Dirty Dozen". The MoD issued the Mark X for military service.
